In the Star Wars stories, the light saber’s beam can cut, melt, and burn through most things it touches.
One special thing about light sabers is that their blades can clash with each other, unlike normal light which would pass through.
If you remember, Jedi knights use light sabers to block and deflect laser shots from the bad guys.
A light saber is made from a crystal that determines its color and even its sound.
Most Jedi light sabers are blue or green, but a few are purple.
