Thanksgiving is a special holiday that comes around every year in the last week of November.
It began a long time ago, when the Pilgrims first came to America from England.
They were thankful for a good harvest, and for surviving tough times, so they had a big feast, which we consider the first Thanksgiving.
Now, every year, we all come together to celebrate everything we are grateful for, just like the Pilgrims did.
During Thanksgiving, one of the main things we do is eat a huge meal!
You often see foods such as turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberries, and pumpkin pie for dessert.
This delicious meal is a big part of what makes Thanksgiving so fun and memorable.
Another awesome part of Thanksgiving is getting to spend time with family and friends.
Sometimes, people also watch football games or parades like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV.
As well as, some people use this time to volunteer and help others who are less fortunate.
In this way, Thanksgiving teaches us to think about what we’re grateful for, spend time with those we care about, and also to give back to those in need.
So, in short, Thanksgiving is a wonderful time full of thankfulness, yummy food, family, and giving!
